A day at the Park
Yesterday, a few of our friends and us went to the park. It was a load of fun with very yummy food and good company, we played games and talked to our hears content. Well that is until we were told to leave the premises, Ha. The kids had a lot of fun too, but enough of my babbling here are some of our memories of yesterday.
Didn’t get as many images as I wanted but this ones will do
hope you guys have an amazing day! <3
One Year
Ok, so it has been a little more then a year now. I celebrated my little man’s first year of life last month on the 31st, I was so busy I didn’t have a chance to post. Now though I have a little bit of free time to continue my little story, my families story too. You can see the pictures from the party here we all had blast, Logan was such a champ even though he was as tired as he was he held off pretty good.
The adults also had some fun attempting to win gifts for their kids, yup. It was different but we loved it, the cake was amazing. I got what I asked for and I got to say it came out better then expected, having family from out of town was also lots of fun, Logan got to play with his cousin and that made my days. He really needed someone around his age around him, which really makes me want to get myself together and hold more get together for the little ones.
Not only did my little boy turned one but it was also the anniversary of something that not many get to do or don’t want to do, we have been breastfeeding for now 1 year and 1 month still going fairly strong too. He has been weaning himself from night time feedings which has caused for my dreaded dot to return, this just means that my little man is getting older. I am very proud of him, he has done so many things. Walking before he was 1 was an amazing accomplishment, he gives kisses (both in Spanish and English) and he can talk your year off with BAH and MUA and MUM, he says Bumb for balloon or button.
He is getting better and eating on his own, but he rather feed us then himself. Now we are just waiting to take him to the docs to give him his 1 year old vaccines (not looking forward to that.)
We have also regained contact with family that lives far from us, we’ve missed them so much too. They are just awesome and hopefully we will get to see them soon too! The hubby is getting his dream car in a couple of months, he is so exited it’s kind of contagious. We are saving up for his down payment :) going strong on that too. Life has been pretty good recently, I couldn’t ask for better.
Remember
Last year today, I remember becoming rather anxious. I remember holding my breath as I continued to read how many first time moms experience the miracle of birth. I remember my husband’s exited eyes that we were going to have our little one soon. The first of April couldn’t come fast enough, even if I had fake contractions by then and had to wait yet another week (like most first time mom’s have too) I was willing to go through that just as long as he made a sign of wanting to come meet us.
I couldn’t have prepared myself for what was to come just in a few short hours. I know I was done being pregnant, though now I kind of really miss it. this is a very short post but it was one worth putting up, the closer I get to his birthday the more I remember. The memories are surely something I hold so close, and every time I remember I seem to be back to that day.
Your Heart and Mine
I have a Husband who has a strong sense of justice, honor, and responsibility. He will not miss a day of work for anything in the world, of course that changes when it is something that HAS to be done. For the most part however he rather not even think about taking a single day off. Even when we want to go out as a family we do it when it is his actual time off, only once did we go on a vacation that he actually asked a few days for it willingly.
During my pregnancy, it was though for him at first. He wanted to come with me to all of my appointments and believe it or not being pregnant for the first time I wanted him there ALWAYS. I felt safe when he was there with me, I was scared (not of being pregnant of course but of the doctors) and wanted him next to me. After our first 3 visits I finally got my wish and transfered to a midwife. This made it easier for him to take off work since the appointments were later (6 pm).
So why am I telling you all of this, well my Husband Dearz has a thing about taking time off work. He will do it only on emergences, and if it is for someone else like our son or me. He has been having problems with his heart for a while now, I had been begging him to go to the doctor too. He kept on just shaking it off and I kept on putting it off as well (bad wifefie). So finally last week I became fed up with my indecisions and called up a cardiologist and made an appointment (Take that indecisiveness). Soon after I called him at work and told him to get the day off, he had an appointment and we were going! (he was not really happy about that but it had to be done)
We found out quite a few nifty things, and things we should do when he has another episode. So with that in mind my heart is less heavy, though I still worry. Being at a cardiologist office with a baby who LOVES to walk was a bit of a challenge, he didn’t only walk but he also talked rather LOUDLY. Thankfully he is cute and the people there were just smitten with him, the doc even complimented us both telling us that we make cute babies :3
So to calm him done a little I got him a book (and Dad got a book too) sat him down to read and I got the cutest picture ever! (let me be, I know there are cutter things out there but this is the cutest in my book
)
PS: We have another appointment come May, hopefully we’ll get to find out even more as to why he gets the episodes he gets.
P.S.S: I had to share this next image as well I LOVE his eyes and cheese smile.
Green Baby
Ok, so I am not the greatest at being a green mom. I am still having a rather hard time transitioning from being a regular consumer/ increase of bad trasher, to being a well balanced green mom. So I am going to be taking my first step to making it at least a little better for my soon to be one year old. I know for a fact that the price that I will pay for the shipping will be nothing to the amount of good it will come from what I am about to do. So in a way it is also a feel good project.
We as parents just enjoy to give our children the best of anything, clothing, gadgets, and much more. I want to add to that I want to give you everything, by giving him more green fields and less trash pile up. I don’t want to just do this for my baby stuff though, I think it is about time I began to actually do that with most anything else as well. I still haven’t gotten well informed though.
Anyway back to the subject at hand.
Today was the last day of life of mister bouncers/jumper.
The little man helped me to put it into pieces, he also helped me scatter them all over the living-room. So I thought to myself rather then just throw it away (because honestly my little used it so much it is pretty much unsafe for another kid) I thought to myself well, why not try to find a place that will recycle it for me?!
I did find a place, it is a state over so I will have to ship it and pay the shipping cost like I mention earlier. I am exited though, because it will go to building something else so in a way a part of my baby and our life will become part of something bigger or smaller.
I am sure there are many others out there but this one is the closest to us state wise so it won’t cost as much on shipping jajaja.
So if you wish to know more as to what you can send and such, clicky on the image
they are also a really awesome all natural store!
p.s. Logan kind of misses his bouncer, he loves to jump but every time we put him on it it would tip. So the difficult decision began.
A Long Trip
So I am going to start this post with a WOAH where did all this wind come from, it’s a bit scary knowing the the Hubs is out there working on this weather on large machines. As I said before Logan has been trying to get sick, he has been a really good fighter but he has finally reached a limit. So did mommy, after hearing him scream every time he coughed. So when my mom had to go see my grandmother (which I don’t want to talk about really) I was lucky enough to tag along and go to Mexico for a day (less then that really) so that I could give my sister the bulk surprise I had for her (planned it since Christmas).
I took the time to go and take my son to the pediatrician while I was there too, and guess what. There WAS something wrong with him, he had a strep throat and his tonsils where getting irritated thus making them become a bit larger, (thankfully though there was no infection… yet!) So I was given stuff for the drainage that was causing the cough. I got stuff to keep the irritation down and I was also given stuff to let the mucus to come down and be gone!
For my time, and all of the consultation I only spend 10 dollars, to the usual 30 or 90 depending on what kind of insurance one has. That 30 or 90 does not include the medicine, which was included on my 10 bucks I spent. Sooooo, when we got home we went to bed and this morning I was able to start his treat meant, and guess what. He looks more lively! He is still coughing a little but nothing to bad not like he was.
I am happy I took the choice to see another pediatrician.
Not saying much, but the pediatriatians of my area suck. It really almost feels like they don’t care, they just as I stated before say that once the kid is worse you can bring them in. I don’t want my kid to get worse I want to make sure he is better darn it!
anyway I am done ranting…
thanks for listening.
Moving Along
Recently there has been a lot of kids who have been getting sick, Logan is not behind on his race to catching something either. He has been showing signs of wanting to develop something but it always seems to fall a little short, now he has a cough. Mind you I don’t like it when he has a runny nose because he becomes a rather sad baby but now that he has a cough I like it even less. Makes me very jumpy, I think this is in part do to the fact that I am a first time mom and have been reading horror stories (other mommy blogs) in which the docs say everything is fine and BAM just kidding your kid has a sickness that is rare but has all the same symptoms as a normal cold or allergies… we sorry.
That just doesn’t cut it for me, the mom’s on the stories I have read have all the right drive. Still somehow the doctors seem to shut them down, with their “I know best” routine. I am not saying that all doctors are like that (though the majority appear to be that way) just that one as a mom and with the desire to protect should have more of a say in our kids health. IF it is just to shut us up the doctor should do more then just say oh s/he is fine, come back if this other symptoms develop k? thanks.
Ok, I am done ranting.
Logan did go see a doc, everything checked out a-ok. (still a bit jumpy) He has a cough that keeps him from sleeping, I think is mainly the mucus going down his throat. Anyway we are doing everything we can to making a bit more comfortable through this ‘thing’ he is going through right now. On lighter news, my little man is now walking (for the most part anyway, he still rather crawl then walk) and like every baby out there he is superspecialawesomecute1000 when he is taking his drunk man steps.
Aside from this, Mum is getting ever closer to being 100% done on all the hand made work for the Birthday Party. However with baby going up and down in mood and wellness I have cut back quite a bit on my workings (which really sucks because stress is finally kicking in) I am sure though that by his birthday Logan is going to be well, he seems to fight this sicknesses very well. Today once he gets up from his nap we will go and get him a new toothbrush (I read somewhere then when your baby is sick it is a good idea to throw away their old toothbrushes and buy them new ones after the sickness is gone. So I just want to have one hand for after he feels better).
Dale, Dale, DALE!
I am deeply in love, yes very deeply in love.
I have as most of you know been working on my little man’s birthday party for a while, I ordered him a pinata online. Today that said pinata arrived and I am just fascinated by the work that was done for it. I love Totoro’s facial expression. and just how cuddly he looks (not that he is) but I just cannot help myself! Anyway this is just so awesome, Logan’s first birthday is falling into place so nicely!!!
If you are looking into ordering a pinata (make sure you do it about a couple of months before time, this way the person can give it their all and you give yourself enough buff time to get your order ) you can order really cute pinata’s here from this awesome lady!
and now for the pinata (don’t mind the dishes lol)

A Day out + Some
So we went to Lubbock yesterday and spend some time at the little kids museum, by some time I mean the entire day. The real reason for us to go was because our car needed some real TLC. While the car was away we went to the museum, and we didn’t have enough time to do, or see everything right. Logan took a small nap, before he went to town in the little children play area. I myself ended up playing too, was the cashier for a little boy, before I became the cashier however he sold me a doughnut for 200 bucks O-o; talk about inflation.
We also went bulk shopping, we got some stuff for Logan’s birthday (mainly drinks for the little kids) and then we went to get stuff for a baby shower, and also bought a couple of gifts for a birthday boy. Needless to say, I am almost completely caught up, almost.
I am having some trouble with the pictures, but I’ll try to put them up once I get the chance
Presents
I have read so many things about what should people buy for a child’s first birthday, that I came out not only confused but baffled. Now I do understand that some parents are rather picky as to what they want their child to have as well as what they want to hear in their home.
Noisy toys are not something many parents are good with, I really don’t mind as long as the present comes from that persons heart and well meaning. Hell even if it is to drive me crazy, the smile in my kids face is more then worth it. They will not be like this for long and the day they decide to up and leave we will be missing the noisy little ones (some might not though it really depends on the person).
So I always live in the present, as for the reason for this post. Someone asked me what I would like for Logan to have on his birthday, my response “I don’t know, what do you feel like giving him?” and “nothing, just be present and celebrate the fact that he manged to live a whole year with me as the care giver” lmao.
Now on to the honest to goodness things that Mommy (and Daddy) wouldn’t mind seeing behind the precious wrapping paper or inside the bags.
Logan is BIG on books, he pretends to read them often. He also loves to flip through the pages.
So here are some cheap, good, very educational books

I have to admit, the fact that my little man likes to ‘read’ makes me swell with happiness. All the time I have spend reading for him has paid of (kind of) maybe he will get over it sooner or later, lets hope it sticks though.
I am also nuts about geeky stuff, so this is a place were you can find really awesome geeky stuff! I am dieing for the blocks (but I do not expect to get them from anyone they are a bit expensive O_O)

I also have this web address that is just awesome, it has many things on sell.
So there are some affordable cute ideas (well not so much the geeky stuff though they do have some on sell at times).
